As part of the registration process, we check your data and therequirements for starting your activity. If these are fulfilled, you will receive a confirmation of registration after approximately 10 working days as well as further information on the reimbursement of the expense allowance via the relief allowance according to § 45b SGB XI.
Please note that you are only entitled to provide support as an individual volunteer within the meaning of § 82 para. 4 sentence 2 no. 1 of the German ordinance on the implementation of the social laws (AVSG) from the day of registration (see date on the registration confirmation).
Your registration is now valid for 3 years. After the 3 years have expired, it will automatically expire and you will need to re-register.
After successful registration, an expense allowance reimbursement form will be provided to the individual volunteer. This form must be completed on a monthly basis for each person supported.
There are two possibilities for the reimbursement of the expense allowance:
- Settlement of the expense allowance with the person with care level
The individual volunteer settles the expense allowance directly with the person being supported. The person can then submit the invoice to their long-term care insurance company and will be reimbursed by the insurance company.
- Settlement on the basis of a notice of assignment
The reimbursement of expense allowance form can also be used to settle the expense allowance on the basis of a notice of assignment. With this, the individual volunteer can settle directly with the long-term care insurance company of the person he/she is supporting.
For this purpose, the box “Notice of assignment” on the form forreimbursement of the expense allowance must be filled in. It is importantthat the person being supported signs the notice of assignment separately.
The form can be submitted to the long-term care insurance company of the person in need of care on the first of the following month at the earliest.
